Superior General

The Very Rev. Norbert Raszeja CR (USA) professed first vows in 1964, was ordained in 1972 and elected as a General Councillor in 1993. In the summer of 2005, Father Norbert was elected Superior General.

The Superior General is always elected by General Chapter for a period of 6 years and may be re-elected once. His role is primarily to unite the world community of Resurrectionists. He and/or his delegate visit every canonical house throughout the world at least twice in every elected term. Following his visitation to every province, the Superior General will make a public report to the entire province or region.

Along with many legal responsibilities, the Superior General is entrusted to make certain that world community of Resurrectionists remain faithful to the gospel and to their constitutions. The superior general is a messenger of hope, strength and challenge assisting Resurrectionists throughout the world in living out their charism and in ministering to those who are entrusted to their care.
