Assistant Superior General

The Very Rev. Adam Dżwigoń CR was born in Oświęcim, Poland. Fr. Adam studied philosophy at Congregation's seminary in Krakow and theology in Rome at the Gregorian. After ordination he returned to Poland for pastoral ministry and in a few years came back to Italy to be assistant pastor at Gesù Risorto Parish in Pescara. For the last ten years was pastor of Gesù Risorto. He is currently doing a licentiate in Spiritual theology at the Gregorian University. He is the Assistant General and will also fulfill the role of Procurator General.

The Assistant General has the same qualifications as the Superior General and is elected for the same term as the Superior General. He supports the superior general and shares in his ministry to the Congregation. He substitutes for the superior general in his absence. His role is also to prepare and coordinate the yearly meetings of the extended General Council

The Procurator General is a member of the general council and appointed by the Superior General. He serves as the official liaison with the Holy See when he acts at the direction of the Superior General and his council. He prepares reports for the Sacred Congregations. At the direction of the General and council, he presents to the Holy See requests for permissions, dispensations and indults, whether these are for the Congregation as a whole, or for provinces, regions, houses or individual members. He oversees and counsels the Congregation in judicial matters and advises in the updating of the Constitutions and Statutes in accordance with new Church legislation.


Secretary General and Superior of the Motherhouse

The Very Rev. Steven Bartczyszyn, C.R . hails from Chicago . He entered the Congregation in1978, made his first profession of vows on May 18, 1980 and was ordained to the priesthood on April 12, 1986 . He began his ministry as a teacher and eventually became Principal, of two high schools. In 1998 he was asked by Cardinal Francis George to work in the Office of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Chicago. In July of 2002 he was appointed Vocation Director of the U. S. A. Province and the following year was appointed Rector of Students at the Congregation's Seminary in St. Louis , Mo. For 14 years he helped at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Chicago with weekend ministry and was also involved in the ministry to Polish immigrants in the Chicago area. He has also served on the Provincial Council of his Province. He is Secretary General of the Congregation and superior of the Roman House.

As secretary general, he keeps the minutes of the meetings of the Superior General and his council, is responsible for current archives and takes care of the official correspondence. He gathers and disseminates news and information about the Congregation to all the members.

Econom General

The Very Rev. Chris Buda CR was born on Dec. 4, 1949 in Rytwiany , Poland . He attended seminary in Cracow and was ordained on May 31, 1975 in Cracow .

Father Chris has had various pastoral ministries in Poland , including a year with the Oasis Movement. In 1983, he was sent to Canada where he served as associate pastor at St. Stanislaus Parish in Hamilton and later pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Kitchener . After leaving Sacred Heart parish he served as Associate Pastor of St. Louis Church and later was named associate pastor and then pastor of St. Mary's Parish. He was pastor of St. Mary's Kitchener until his election to General council in the summer of 2005. He serves as Econom General.

The econom general is appointed by the superior general with the consent of his council. He administers the temporal goods of the Congregation under the direction of the superior general and the vigilance of the general council in accordance with the norms of common law and the civil law of the country. He holds and administers wills and bequests made to the Congregation. He obtains financial reports from the provinces, the regions and those houses directly dependent upon the superior general. He presents a financial report at the meetings of the extended general council and at the general chapter.
